Futurate deliver Plymouth’s sustainable travel website

We are proud to announce the launch of our latest web development, branding and marketing project for a large local authority in the South West of England. We partnered with Plymouth City Council to help them enhance city transport by developing ‘PlymGo’ – a high-impact, web-based software application comprising local route planning for all available modes of transport in and around the city. The travel website provides a ‘one stop shop’ to enable residents and visitors to rapidly research the most efficient, healthy and cost-effective way to make a journey.

The sustainable travel portal makes use of Google maps in combination with other data sources and demonstrates how Google mapping can be leveraged to innovate an online public service, helping members of the public make the most of the choices available to them.

Not only will the green transport website encourage significant reductions in car usage, it will also play a role in helping drive Plymouth’s cultural, tourist and leisure economy by acting as a location-based database for amenities, tourist attractions and selected upcoming events.

As well as designing and implementing the website for PlymGo (using the web software development language PHP), we’ve also been responsible for branding, the production of marketing collateral and management of the marketing campaign. Those who take Plymouth city transport daily and visitors to Devon will find out about PlymGo through bus-side banners, bus stop adverts and other cross-platform media.
